Stranger By Day

Technically SBD was a little different then all of the stuff I post on here but they were a very important part of our local scene. I feel like this band never got the recognition they deserved even after they put out an incredible record on Uprising Records.
This is probably one of the most important bands to come from Atlanta, GA for me. If it wasn't for these dudes myself and a lot of my friends would not be doing what we do today. Stranger By Day was one of the hardest working, down to earth, and awesome bands from our area. Originally they started off like a Strung Out influenced punk band with some metal influences but over time they developed their own sound and made some of the catchiest music in my personal opinion of all time. I was lucky to see them at my first show back in 2000 and for some reason they actually befriended the awkward 12 year old me.
After that I would catch them at any show I could, they parted ways with their original vocalist Mike and got Josh Kimmel the singer of another super rad band from our area No Cigar. After a few demo samplers with like three songs on it that they would pass out at shows, they released If Tomorrow Was The End. An awesome record that really showed them branching out from their more punk beginnings and showed their progression as a band. After a few years of playing shows all around/outside of GA they had a pretty big following here and caught the attention of Uprising Records(at the time 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Stretch Arm Strong and now just pure shit). They put out Death Of Apathy and started touring as much as time/money would allow them. Death Of Apathy got a great response but they had a horrible curse of lineup changes(I honestly don't even know what the correct list is). In 2005 Stranger By Day played their last show and called it quits, it's a shame that this band didn't receive all the hype that a lot of bands in that time received.

It still amazes me to this day that horrible bands from here like Attila and Woe Is Me are so successful by doing almost nothing and bands like SBD, and other locals from here worked their asses off but still didn't get the recognition they deserved, I guess the internet just does wonders for for bands nowadays. Anyway, enough of my ranting check out the record Death Of Apathy a super under rated album from one of the best bands you'll never hear about. I'll post If Tomorrow Was The End sometime next week after I go to my dad's and rip a copy.

Members went on to play in the bands Campaign(AWESOME), 1994(RIP), Drag The Waters(RIP), and others I'm sure.
