Dead Blue Sky-Symptoms Of An Unwanted Emotion

Let's talk about how amazing DBS was for a little while, I was told about this band by my old room mate/band mate/ awesome dude Josh and HOLYSHIT was my first response after hearing this record. I am so pissed that I have only known about these dudes for two years now. They were from Dayton, OH and they played a beautiful stye of metalcore that I have never heard replicated to this day. Just listen to Symptoms Of An Unwanted Emotion all the way though and you will see what I'm saying they mix the beauty of symphonic black metal and the technicality of swedish death metal with the emotion of hardcore it's fucking frightening how underrated this band is.

If you are a fan of early metalcore or even metal in general download this record or stop reading my blog. This has to be one of my top records/bands of all time and it is a CRUCIAL record to this era.
If you can find an actual copy of this I reccomend you buy it.

Royalty In Exile

I took this from their myspace "At this point and time what is to be expected from "Royalty in Exile" is music with energy and passion with the infuence of a sound that most can only look back on. Formed early 07 with ex/current members of well known NYC's local band's, "RIE" proudly announces the addition of good friend Matt Matera (7 Angels 7 Plagues, Dead to Fall). Getting started is our main priority and we will be hard at work to make sure we start things off on the right foot, please be patient. A big THANK YOU to everyone supporting us and taking the time out to listen to the music we have up at the moment... you will be seeing us very soon!"

Let me just go ahead and say that this band is one of my favorite bands playing music right now and they capture the early 2000 sound perfectly. There aren't really any bands right now playing this style so I got really stoked when I found this band. They are a perfect mix of beautiful melody like 7A7P, older Hopesfall and the the metallic heavy sound of bands like Endthisday and PFC. As if this wasn't enough to make this band top of my list I found out Matt Matera from 7A7P is actually in this fucking band, so that being said just check out their demo it's perfect.

It Takes Courage/Just A Summer Romance demos

Here are the demos I promised earlier from JASR/ITC.

The It Takes Courage demo is incredible, probably the best band to ever come out of Woodstock, GA. I miss seeing these guys play and I miss this band more than any other band from here. As I stated earlier the members of this band now play in Irreversible and former members play in I Create and I think Sky the singer of Gray Ghost was in it for a brief period but I could be wrong.

Anyway here it is It Takes Courage-Demo

Here is the JASR demos as well, atleast two songs off this demo were re done when they changed their name to It Takes Courage and the recording quality is pretty bad but it still sounds amazing to me. I remember being super young getting stoked on these recordings and seeing these dudes play such fucking passion every show.

ENDTHISDAY LIVE VIDEO!

So I was going on my usual You Tube search for shit and I found these uploaded not too long ago!
Watching this makes me wish I could have seen this fucking band, if you haven't ever listened to Endthisday then stop reading my blog.

Atlanta locals(It Takes Courage/Just A Summer Romance)

Right now I only have time to post one song but I will be posting the entire Just A Summer Romance demo pretty soon. This band existed when I was in middle school and they were fucking popular around here. They later changed their name to It Takes Courage and recorded another demo(more like an EP) with re done songs and new songs. Members are now in Irreversible, That New Retro, I Create and other shit I'm sure.
I listen to their demo a pretty good bit still just because this band will always have a special place in my heart and they represent an amazing era of this scene.
They played incredibly passionate melodic hardcore with some metal riffs thrown in, they were in the style of 7A7p, Shai Hulud and older Hopesfall I would say but I would never limit them to just those bands. Listen to all of their shit when I post it and see for yourself!

Just A Summer Romance-Your Presence Fallen
This song's name was later changed to Heart Break On Repeat.

Enjoy, I'll be posting more soon,

I haven't bothered posting on here in a while but I will start updating this very soon.
Since I last updated I managed to score an Undying hoodie(Whispered Lies Of Angels era), and I'm constantly on the lookout for merch and releases from different bands so if you have anything you want to get rid of then throw it my way.

End This Day-Sleeping Beneath The Ashes Of Creation

This is another band that only had one release but it is amazing here is a bio I took from the myspace......

''Endthisday formed in Wisconsin in November of 1999 with the goal of showing audiences in the hardcore scene that metal has a place on the dance floor. Blending the melody of European metal with the energy of American hardcore in a unique way, endthisday forges a new path for metal in the hardcore world. Combining blistering speed picking, massive breakdowns, catchy sing-alongs, and other well-rounded elements into their music, they create levels of intensity rarely achieved by others.

endthisday recorded their first demo CD in March of 2000. For the next year, they played a number of shows throughout the Midwest in support of this CD, sharing the stage with a number of large national acts, and gaining the attention of hardcore and metal audiences everywhere. In this time, they sold every one of the 500 copies produced with absolutely no distribution or touring, except for a weeklong stint with Undying in the summer of 2000.

With the addition of new members in 2001, endthisday quickly rose to a newfound level of maturity, creativity, and raw energy. The music became more dynamic and intense, and powerful live performances turned more heads than ever before. In July of 2001, endthisday returned to the studio to record their highly anticipated second demonstrational CD, "Only The Tears of Angels Will Reveal Our Sorrow." Since then, they have have played a handful of shows around the Midwest, done a brief tour of the East Coast, and winter tour of the Midwest and Southeastern United States, allowing them to sell over 800 copies of that CD with no distributional assistance.

endthisday signed with Germany`s Lifeforce Records, and released their debut full-length cd, "Sleeping Beneath the Ashes of Creation" on August 20th. This release sold 1,500 copies in its first two weeks alone, and is rising to the top of metal charts around the world. A summer tour in 2002 helped turn even more heads to endthisday´s sound.''

They have long since broken up but here is ''Sleeping Beneath The Ashes Of Creation'' download and buy it you will not be disappointed.

Rifles At Recess-To Whisper In Tongues

Okay, last post of the day but I have to share this with anyone who has not heard it yet....Rifles At Recess from Dayton, TN; I got the pleasure of seeing them once which was incredible they only released one album(that I know of) and it is nothing short of amazing.

I have been looking for demos and merch of this band for a long time but I don't think it exists anymore if you have anything please email me and I will post it on here, bands like Whitechapel took influence from this band(they are from the same town and they played their last show) too bad bands like this broke up.

Prayer For Cleansing-The Rain In Endless Fall

Okay, so this first post is from the album that I named this blog after and it is one of my favorite albums of all time from the NC band Prayer For Cleansing; I never got a chance to see them because when they were playing shows I was quite young and always missed all the good shows that weren't within an hour drive. So heavy but with such beautiful melody.

Anyway, here is the link I'll post art later:

New blog

I am going to be posting about bands from a scene that has long since fallen apart and has been replaced by a sea of bands that rip each other off and lack any kind of creativity.
